About Benoit Courault Les Tabeneaux
Benoit Courault Les Tabeneaux is a natural and biodynamic red wine made from the Cabernet Franc and Grolleau varieties by Benoit Courault in Loire (Vin de France).
Benoit Courault is a young French winemaker who initially learned to make conventional wines, but then discovered natural production methods and decided to spend time learning more about them with the great master Eric Pfifferling. In 2006, he settled on an old farm in the town of Faye d’Anjou, in the heart of the Loire, and that is where he started making his own natural, organic and biodynamic creations.
Benoit Courault Les Tabeneaux comes from centuries-old vineyards that had been cultivated for years using fertilisers and chemical products. Courault, on the other hand, is committed to recovering the natural balance of the soil using biodynamic treatments. With the help of his faithful co-worker Alphonse the horse, he can plow, dig and transport boxes without the noise of the tractor. The strain yield is limited to obtain maximum quality of the berry and the harvest is manual at the optimum point of ripeness.
When the Benoit Courault Les Tabeneaux grapes reach the winery, they undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Then 50% of the wine ages in used French oak barrels and the other half in fibre tanks. Finally it is bottled by hand without clarifying or filtering and only a minimum amount of sulphur is added.
Considered one of the best natural wines made in the Loire, Benoit Courault Les Tabeneaux is a light, subtle and vibrant red wine. Pure fruitiness.

| 2017 | Benoit Courault Les Tabeneaux 2017 is a smooth red wine with aromas of fresh red fruits, notes of wild flowers and spicy touches. A light wine with a bright acidity and very subtle tannins. Freshness and longevity on the palate. | |
