About Guitian Sobre Lías

Guitian Sobre Lías is a white wine from D.O Valdeorras produced by the A Tapada winery. This is a single variety wine made with the Godello grape variety. The region is home to a Mediterranean and oceanic climate, with strong Atlantic influences, characterised by a strong contrast between summer and winter, yet milder temperatures in spring and autumn. The climate is ideal for the cultivation of grapes, and especially the production of high quality dry wines. Guitian Sobre Lías is produced using traditional methods. During the production process, the must undergoes fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged on its fine lees for six months in the same stainless steel tanks. The A Tapada winery, more commonly known as Guitian, was one of the main culprits behind the Godello grape’s rise to prominence in the region. The winery has without a doubt helped set the benchmark in the D.O. Valdeorras.
