About Hacienda Grimón Reserva

Hacienda Grimón Reserva is a red reserva from La Rioja produced by the Hacienda Grimón winery. This wine is a blend of Tempranillo (85%), a variety typical of the area, and Graciano (15%). The grapes for Hacienda Grimón Reserva are manually harvested in the same vineyard and undergo a rigorous selection.

The grapes are shipped in boxes to the winery, where a second selection process takes place before a mechanical stripping.

The must subsequently passes into steel tanks of 15,000 litres. In these, alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled maximum temperature of 29°C, for between nine and twelve days. Once the fermentation is complete, the deposits are covered and skins are pressed with a vertical press. The wine is then covered to keep its distinctive traits.

Hacienda Grimón Reserva now rests in deposits on its lees as malolactic fermentation occurs naturally.

After the production process, Hacienda Grimón Reserva is racked and left to stand in 225 litre barrels of French oak for 24 months.

Hacienda Grimón Reserva is finally bottled without going through any kind of clarification nor cold stabilisation.

Hacienda Grimón is a small family winery located in the Valle del Jubera and was founded in 1998. Despite the youth of the business, the Oliván family has great tradition and agriculture, wine and ranching experience that has been passed down from generation to generation.

2016

Hacienda Grimón Reserva 2016 is a classic red wine. The nose has touches of liquorice, red fruits and sweet toasted notes. The palate is fresh and young, with ripe red fruit, liquorice, citrus and coconut flavours. Long and intense finish, with ripe and elegant tannins.
2010 Fresh and young. With notes of ripe red fruit, liquorice, vanilla and citrus with hints of aging in the barrel. Long and intense aftertaste, mature, elegant tannins.

Intense ruby colour, medium layer.

Liquorice notes and aromas of ripe berries with roasted sweet touches.
