About Marcel Deiss Pinot Gris

Marcel Deiss Pinot Gris is an organic Pinot Gris variety white wine produced by the prestigious biodynamic winemaker Marcel Deiss.

If Marcel Deiss is known for anything, it is for defending the character of the terroir over the grape variety. The 20 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Alsace (Bergheim), which include all the varieties of the area, are Ecocert and Demeter certified. As a result, they create a wide range of very fresh and vibrant single-variety wines.

Marcel Deiss Pinot Gris comes from vineyards with an average age of 40 years old. They practice organic and biodynamic agriculture in order to avoid potential corrections in the winery. No pesticides are used and all treatments are natural. The grapes are harvested by hand.

After the harvest, the Marcel Deiss Pinot Gris clusters are pressed for a long time. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with native yeasts in stainless steel deposits. The wine then ages on its lees for a year.

From a winery known for their approach of little intervention, Marcel Deiss Pinot Gris is a tense and complex white wine that comes, first and foremost, from good grapes.
