About Perelada Inspirador Negre

There are destinations that, merely by mentioning their name, conjure up unique images and sensations. Peralada is one such place. Its majestic castle, a symbol of its rich medieval history, the exclusive casino that blends luxury and sophistication, and the renowned International Music Festival, which each summer transforms the region into a first-class cultural epicentre, are some of the treasures that define it. However, beyond its historical and cultural heritage, Peralada stands out for its deep-rooted winemaking tradition, capturing the essence of the character and the unique landscape of the Costa Brava in Catalonia.

Under the guidance of the talented oenologist Delfí Sanahuja, the wines of Peralada have achieved international acclaim, celebrated for their quality, innovation, and respect for local varieties. An example of this mastery is Perelada Inspirador Negre, an elegant blend of samsó (carignan), garnatxa negra, and cabernet sauvignon varieties. Cultivated under the Mediterranean sun and following traditional methods, the grapes are meticulously selected, destemmed, and pressed to begin their fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Subsequently, the wine matures for three months in Bordeaux barrels made from French Allier and American oak, imparting exceptional complexity and balance.

The result is a wine that, with each sip, reveals its origin: a compendium of diverse soils, Mediterranean climate, and a winemaking passion that transcends generations. Perelada Inspirador Negre is not merely a wine; it is a sensory experience that confirms that Peralada is much more than a destination in the Alt Empordà; it is a place where history, art, and wine converge to create something truly unique.

Perelada Inspirador Negre 2023 is distinguished by its intense cherry hue. On the nose, it offers an enticing bouquet of red fruits such as strawberries and cherries, alongside notes of black fruits that add depth, all complemented by a subtle hint of barrel ageing. On the palate, it is rounded and fresh, with remarkable balance and a long finish that highlights the character of the cariñena. Its tannins are smooth and enveloping, making this wine a light and pleasant choice.
