About Serragghia bianco Zibibbo

Serragghia Bianco Zibibbo is an orange wine made with the Zibibbo variety (Muscat of Alexandria) by Gabrio Bini’s Azienda Agricola Serragghia on the island of Pantelaria, Sicily.

The Serragghia Bianco Zibibbo wine is made using clusters from old vineyards that are hand-harvested and fermented with their native yeasts. They macerate with their skins for three months in terracotta 220-litre amphoras that stay buried in the island’s characteristic volcanic tuff soils. The wine is bottled without clarifying, refining or filtering and without adding sulphites.

The Azienda Agricola Serragghia vineyards are also unique because they lie at a higher altitude than other vineyards on the island, which means the vines enjoy more moderate temperatures, even in the summer, thanks to the refreshing sea breeze.

Gabrio Bini is a former architect who has become a leading winemaker. His creativity has led him to produce unique wines with flavours that cannot be compared to anything else in the world. He cultivates and cares for his old vines of the local Catarrato, Pignatello and Zibibbo varieties according to the principles of organic agriculture in a unique location on the island of Pantelaria (Pantelleria), with unusual volcanic soils that enhance the personality of every wine.

2018 Serragghia Bianco Zibibbo 2018 is an orange wine with citrus and spicy aromas on the nose accompanied by a smoky minerality that is characteristic of volcanic soils. On the palate it is full-bodied, textured and fresh with well-integrated tannins. A unique, complex and flavoursome orange wine.
