About Viña Lanciano Reserva

Viña Lanciano Reserva is a red wine from Rioja produced by the Lan winery. It is a wine blend made up of the Tempranillo (80%) and Mazuelo (20%) varieties.

The harvest is done manually on the Viña Lanciano estate, located near a bend in the river Ebro and owned by the same winery. Vines are more than 30 years old. Upon arriving at the winery, the grapes are selected from sorting tables.

Fermentation occurs in small conical stainless steel tanks. There is a long maceration and continuous pumping to achieve adequate colour removal.

The wine is aged for 6 months in oak barrels from the Russian Caucasus and 12 months in French oak barrels from Allier. Finally, it is refined in bottle for a period of 18 months.

The Lan winery's name derives from the initials of Logroño, Alava and Navarra, the three provinces of the DO La Rioja. The winery specializes in wines made from Tempranillo.

2016

Viña Lanciano Reserva 2016 is an exceptionally distinctive red wine. Exhibiting a deep cherry hue with luminous violet highlights, this wine exudes elegance, replete with aromas of red and black fruits (blackberry, redcurrant) and a melange of spices (clove, cinnamon, vanilla). On the palate, it is distinctly mineral, with luscious, well-ripened tannins. It possesses a robust character and an extensive finish.

Intense black and red fruits with balsamic and spicy touches. Mineral nuances.
